They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. . . .Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever. CLICK "OFFICIAL TRAILER" TO VIEW MORE.

This young adult book provides teens with a believable leading lady whom many readers will be able to relate to. Rose Hathaway may be strong, brave and loyal, but this particular heroine certainly has her share of faults; through the course of the novel she learns plenty of lessons the hard way and gradually begins to fathom the meaning of responsibility. In addition, the difficult but extremely relevant issue of depression is dealt with in a way that is both understanding and pragmatic.
